This is so wonderful !!! This has probably been the most requested feature since the day I started working with Flash. Of course, there are certain restrictions in the way files can be read and written to, but those limitations are definitely something which one can live with for such a nice feature. As I understand, user’s have to initiate a read or write action and it cannot be self invoked by the player and as with FileReference the locations of the file being loaded or written to will not be exposed. Astro is getting thrilling day by day. Wonderful job Adobe !!!

I just hope that the Sandbox Restriction (the *most* hated feature of Flash Player) doesn’t gets more stringer with this. That one feature broke around 10 projects of mine and I had to spend a lot of time fixing them up. And it was even more painful with CDROM based projects where there were no alternatives to fall back on.
